Babbel’s footnote says the struck-through reference price is the total cost of a recurring one-month subscription over the same period. So the “50% off” on the 12-month plan compares it with paying monthly for a year, not with a time-limited sale. On its prices page, the 12-month plan gives access to all 14 languages. The App Store still sells some single-language plans, such as a one-year Mexican Spanish plan at $89.99. Is Babbel free?

Babbel’s help center says you can cancel up to the day before renewal and that you pay for the renewal period in advance, so cancel earlier than you think you need to.
How to cancel. On babbel.com, click the profile icon, then Profile and settings, then Account information. Choose your subscription and select “Cancel auto-renewal.” You keep access until the end of the paid term. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. If you bought through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store.
Refunds. Babbel advertises a 14-day money-back guarantee, and its terms give a 14-day right to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason, using an online form. If you already used the service, you may owe a proportional amount. The terms exclude purchases made through app stores, which follow the store’s refund rules.
